The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC, https://www.missingkids.org) purports to protect children, yet their vetting is grossly inadequate when it comes to those who claim they are seeking children.
The people they support are in fact sometimes the abusers of these children, hiding in plain sight with superficial credibility.
Of this, I have first-hand experience. Through the NCMEC I unwittingly assisted a dangerous predator to gain access to a child whose mother he had been stalking in order to get that child.
This was very early in the life of the Foundation for Child Victims of the Family Courts, around 2008.
I was contacted by the NCMEC, asking me to help a father who stated that his young daughter had been abducted by the mother, who was seeking to secure full custody of the child in court.
The Foundation did assist in this matter. But we soon came to find out that this man was himself an extremely dangerous predator who in fact had been blocked from coming to the U.S. because of a rape conviction in the UK. We learned that he was an obsessed abuser and seeker of child custody, not only in this one case. He had a history as a serial impregnator of women, whose children he then sought custody of in order to exploit.
Over many years and with many children he had repeated this crime.
This man was ex-military with cybersecurity technical skills. He was able to hack websites and publish malicious material on those websites remotely. The Foundation had to go to court to extract him not only from his false allegations against me and against the FCVFC, but also against his attempt to take over the FCVFC website for his own purposes.
(A colleague and “competitor” with this individual also attempted a similar presentation of himself as a child advocate. This was Peter Senese, who went to prison for extorting desperate parents.)
This organization, NCMEC, missingkids.org, is a useful vehicle for these predators to make false accusations that are not properly vetted by the organization. The predators are then able to post the support of the NCMEC on social media, making wildly fraudulent accusations against vulnerable subjects, enlisting the public in their advocacy to have these children placed into the hands of their abusers.
Such is the case with a current client of the Foundation for Child Victims of the Family Courts, a mother and her children.
This protective mother is known to be protecting her children and herself from an abuser. But the NCMEC website has facilitated the efforts of the abuser, to capture her and have her incarcerated while returning the children to his own custody.
Both he and the Missouri courts have abused and exploited them. Now the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is aiding in that continued effort.
Like so many nonprofits, what started well has turned sour. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children needs to carefully vet the ones who come to them to ask about their “missing children.”
